Healing Haven's Mission
The mission of Healing Haven is to provide high-quality and compassionate behavioral health and autism therapy services for families of individuals with autism and other developmental needs between the ages 2 to 16. Through ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy, Speech and Occupational Therapies, ABA Parent Training, Counseling and Autism Testing and Assessments, families have one location for their child’s services. In addition, we place an emphasis on parent training and stress management for all individuals involved in the child’s care. By addressing the individual child’s behavioral, communication, socialization and play skill challenges, as well as providing emotional support for caregivers navigating a diagnosis, we provide a comprehensive approach to the growing population of families impacted by autism.
The Heart of Our Services
Research very clearly states that early intervention for children with developmental disabilities is critical. When children receive ABA therapy early on, they can develop skills they may struggle with in the areas of communication, play and social interaction. Additionally, the likelihood of negative behaviors decreases, because they learn appropriate behaviors from the beginning.
The premise of early intervention for children is common. However, the concept of early intervention for parental coping skills is not common. This is an aspect of our services that makes Healing Haven stand out among ABA therapy providers. When a parent learns the tools to both teach their child with autism and take care of themselves, they maximize their child’s outcome, while maintaining the cohesiveness within their family.
Who We Are
Healing Haven is a team of professionals dedicated to bettering the lives of families of children with special needs. Even though we specialize in autism, our team is skilled at treating all children that have behavioral issues or deficits. We address challenging behaviors in the areas of socialization, language and play through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.
We are “out of the box” thinkers when it comes to our treatment approach. First, we believe in listening to each family’s unique set of needs. Then we create a plan to treat everyone in the family. And throughout, we strive to meet each person where they are at in their journey.

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE
Our Values
- Place humanity over diagnosis. We treat each individual with dignity, as a person first not a diagnosis, and customize their treatment accordingly.
- Serve the entire family. We recognize the critical role each person serves in the journey of success, as well as the impact an individual’s diagnosis can have on each member of the family.
- Foster personal well-being. Whether it’s within the families we serve or the teams we work in, we provide mindfulness and stress reduction techniques to equip caregivers and clients with tools to manage and alleviate their stress.
- Empower our team. We encourage our team members to identify and capitalize on their strengths, while having the confidence to take initiative, make decisions, and lead within their sphere of responsibility and influence.
- Celebrate our diversity. With diversity comes strength in the broad range of backgrounds, experiences, education, and perspectives our team members bring to their work, which in turn helps us better serve our diverse clients. We also celebrate neurodiversity and advocate for acceptance of all individuals.
Why We Are Successful
Our motivation is to provide only the best for our families! It is our sincere pleasure and honor to serve all the children and families that walk through our door. Additionally, there are two elements that make our clinic unique.
First, we place a large emphasis on parent training and involvement. A true measure of the effectiveness of ABA therapy is the child’s ability to use newly acquired skills in the “real world”. When parents participate, we increase the likelihood that what children learn in the clinic will carry over to the natural environment.
Second, we place a large emphasis on stress management, but not just for parents! In addition to helping parents manage their stress, we also teach stress management techniques to the children. We may use yoga, deep breathing, or behavioral relaxation training to help our children regulate their emotions. These proactive strategies help us circumvent behaviors before they even occur.
We also teach our staff to care for themselves using similar techniques! Research tells us that when caregivers of people with special needs can live in a mindful fashion, the people they care for also have a positive change in behavior! We take care of our staff, so in turn they can take better care of the children in our care. Our extensive training, stress management systems, and family atmosphere have led to happy staff and low turn-over rates. Staff retention is important to us, as it ensures that the children receive the highest level of care possible.
