Speech Therapy

speech therapy at Healing Haven

Speech therapy is a critical service for children with autism and other communication challenges. As a result, we have a team of Speech-Language Pathologists providing speech therapy services to clients participating in our ABA programs. Our collaborative clinical teams work together seamlessly to design programs that maximize communication in tandem with the client’s behavior therapy. With in-house occupational and speech therapies, we provide one service location for your child to receive ABA and the additional therapy supports they need.

Our highly-skilled team of Speech-Language Pathologists work within the ABA environment to improve the development of your child’s communication skills. This includes play skills and interpersonal relationships, as well as the expected receptive and expressive language development.

Insurance

We accept the following insurance plans for speech therapy services: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, HAP, Aetna, Priority Health, Cigna and United Healthcare. We also have private pay rates available for those who do not have insurance coverage.

Evaluation

An individualized evaluation will occur one week prior to your child starting services. This allows the Speech Therapist to devise a child-centered treatment plan custom-tailored to their greatest needs and priorities for personal growth. The level of medical necessity will be determined at this time to establish the number of sessions per week from which your child would optimally benefit.

Talk Tools®

The Talk Tools program is a highly respected and sought-after approach to improving speech production using bubbles, whistles, straws and other oral motor tasks. These well-organized tools and tasks improve strength and coordination of the speech articulators. They also build new oral motor plans which increase speech production. PROMPT© Therapy

PROMPT, an acronym for PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets, is a play-based therapy in which the SLP very strategically chooses target sounds for the child to focus on. Tactile prompts are used to help the children achieve proper oral motor postures to produce the targets. Social, cognitive and linguistic aspects are all considered when choosing the targets. Social Thinking®

Social Thinking principles focus on building social communication and theory of mind skills through individual and group sessions. This builds social competencies to better connect with others leading to more meaningful relationships. For more information visit www.socialthinking.com.

Links to Language
